The South Carolina Poultry Festival, held annually since 1987 in Batesburg-Leesville on the second weekend of May, is a vibrant, family-friendly celebration of the state’s poultry heritage. The festival features live music across multiple stages, carnival rides, a grand parade with more than 100 units, craft and food vendors, a 5K Run/Walk, volleyball and other contests, a \"#1 World\'s Best Chicken Cooking Contest,\" a classic car show, and a spectacular pyromusical fireworks finale.
